In order to enlarge and improve its social contribution activities using the qualities of its corporate culture,
Shinsegae Food has formed a partnership with Seoul City, as well as local organizations and groups and affiliates
of Shinsegae and the E-Mart Group. The company has been actively taking part in various social contribution
programs, targeting vulnerable social groups and neglected neighbors such as elderly
persons with no one to rely on, underfed children, and disabled persons with no income.
Shinsegae Food has been running a Travelling Baking Class, a training program to help students in vulnerable social groups to stand on their own feet, jointly with Seoul employees of the Salvation Army. This is part of the company’s social contribution program – first implemented in 2015 – which volunteers the talents of the company running a bakery business to help fulfill the dreams of students in vulnerable social groups who want to become bakers. Shinsegae Food plans to gradually upgrade the Baker Training lessons with more theory and practical experience, so that the students can polish their skills to the extent that they acquire a certificate, enabling a career in the future.
